North Carolina Lawyers Weekly has named Essex Richards Partner Heather Culp to its annual “Leaders in the Law” list, honoring the state’s most influential legal professionals.
According to Lawyers Weekly, “the award honors legal professionals licensed and practicing law in the state of North Carolina, who have gone above and beyond in their profession and their community. These honorees represent the most influential individuals within the state’s legal community.”
Heather has practiced law for over 20 years in various areas of civil litigation. The majority of her work involves bankruptcy, debtor/creditor relations, business disputes, and other legal issues involving debt, credit, or money owed.
Heather is a reliable volunteer with local bar associations, having served as 2017-2018 president of the Mecklenburg County Bar. She served on the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Bar Association and North Carolina Bar Foundation (2015-2018). She also volunteers with Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy (formerly Legal Services of Southern Piedmont) and Legal Aid of North Carolina. Heather is proud to chair the 2018-2019 Access to Justice Campaign to raise funds to benefit these two local pro bono agencies.
