The Covid-19 pandemic has knocked us all for a loop. We are especially concerned for the hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians who have seen their jobs and businesses vanish. They’re struggling to feed and homeschool their kids while defaulting on mortgages, rent, car payments and student loans. How will it end? Will they have jobs in the post-Covid hereafter?
Here at Essex Richards, we are lawyers, and we are seeing solid, middle class citizens who suddenly need legal services lawyers. Our poor, elderly and health-challenged neighbors are especially hard hit.
We want to do our part. The North Carolina Bar Foundation has stepped up, pouring volunteers and funding into traditional legal services programs, as well as new emergency services to respond to the Covid crisis. We know that one of the most effective things we can do to help is to support the coordinated efforts of the Foundation. We are proud to serve as a Program Partner, offering volunteer assistance as well as financial support to North Carolina citizens.
