Essex Richards is pleased to announce that Heather Culp has been sworn in as President of the Mecklenburg County Bar, a 5400 member association, headquartered in Charlotte, NC. Heather was sworn in on May 18 for the 2017-2018 term, which begins July 1, 2017.
“The attorneys and staff of Essex Richards are excited that in the year of the firm’s fortieth anniversary, a member of the firm has been elected as President of the Mecklenburg County Bar. It is an honor to practice law with Heather and we look forward to supporting her leadership of the County Bar,” said Essex Richards Managing Partner Steve Morris.
Heather has a long history of serving the Mecklenburg County Bar, including her positions as President-Elect (2016-2017), Vice President (2015-2016) and Secretary (2013-2015). She has also served on the Board of Directors (2012-2013), the Diversity & Inclusion Committee (2014-2017), and the Continuing Legal Education Committee (2007-2014), which she co-chaired (2008-2010).
Heather comments that she is “excited about the opportunity to serve the profession and the community, and grateful for the support of an outstanding team at Essex Richards.”
Heather is an experienced and sought-after civil litigator. She focuses her practice on debtor/creditor rights, receiverships, commercial foreclosures, personal and business bankruptcy, business disputes, and other legal issues involving credit or money owed. Although Heather will be busy with her new role with the bar, she will continue serving clients full-time, and practicing with Essex Richards where her clients will remain a top priority.
