On Saturday, April 9, 2016, Essex Richards Attorney Norris Adams was sworn in as General Counsel to the North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police (NCFOP). Adams’ role will be to serve as legal counsel to the organization on a statewide level, while continuing his law practice at Essex Richards in Charlotte.
The NCFOP is comprised of over 6,000 law enforcement officers and 57 lodges from across the state, and is the largest law enforcement organization in the State of North Carolina. The organization works with national and state legislatures on behalf of the men and women who make up the organization, advocates on their behalf at the state and local level, and is committed to improving the safety and working conditions of law enforcement officers.
Adams sees this as an opportunity to use his legal experience to serve those who protect and give back to our community each day.
State President Randy Hagler announced Adams’ new role with the organization: “The North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police is excited to announce that Norris A. Adams, II of Essex Richards, PA has accepted the position of General Counsel for our organization. NCFOP conducted a statewide search for right person to work with the men and women of law enforcement across the state and we look forward to his being a part of the NCFOP.”
Adams is a partner at Essex Richards, P.A. in Charlotte (https://www.essexrichards.com/), where he focuses his practice on civil litigation, with an emphasis on ERISA litigation.
